Karthigai, the festival of lights, was celebrated at the Triad Hindu Temple (THT) of Greensboro, North Carolina, U.S. On the Karthigai Pradosham day, the president of the temple, Swami Rajendran organised a unique ritual by building a Kailasa Prasthara (The Abode of Lord Siva) with 365 Mruttika (clay) siva lingams arranged in 11 avaranas. The ritual was performed by Brahmasri Murali Krishna Sarma.

Lord Siva was worshipped as Sri Uma Pardhiveswara. Rudram and Chamakam, were chanted during the performance of Rudraabhishekam on the occasion and the celebration culminated in the lighting of 365 Jyothir lingams and maha annabisekham.
