The Papanasam Sivan Rasikar Sangam has organised special programmes in connection with the 119th birthday of Papanasam Sivan which will be celebrated tomorrow (Sept. 26), 5 p.m., at Narada Gana Sabha Hall. Eminent musicians will render Sri Kapaleeswarar Pancharatnam as a homage to the composer on this day.

R. Seshasayee, managing director, Ashok Leyland Ltd., Chennai, will confer the title, ‘Sivanisai Selvar’ on violin maestro M. Chandrasekaran. A. Natarajan, former director, Doordarshan Kendra, Chennai, will distribute Smt. Narayani Ammal Vaidya Subramania Iyer memorial tambura prize (instituted by EAV Trust), and other prizes to the winners of music and dance competitions held by the Sangam recently. This will be followed by T.M. Krishna’s vocal concert at 6.45 p.m.

The two-day fest concludes on September 27.
