Sursagar, in association with Indian Council For Cultural Relations, is organising its 31st Varshikotsav 2012. The evening will feature a concert by Girija Devi and Pandit Venkatesh Kumar.

Girija Devi sings in the Banaras gharana and her repertoire includes the semi-classical genres like kajri, chaiti, and holi.

Venkatesh kumar, who hails from Bellary, studied music from Pt. Puttaraj Gawai. He currently teaches music at the Karnatak College of Music, Dharwad and is a recipient of several awards. The two singers will be accompanied by Ravindra Yavagal on tabla and Vyasmurthi Katti on harmonium.

The event will be held on November 10 at Chowdiah Memorial Hall at 6 p.m. Entry is free. The event is supported by Puravakara. For details write to
