Back with a bang
Music director Vijayanand who provided such melodious music in films like Nee Bareda Kadambari and Indina Ramayana is returning to the Kannada film industry after a long gap. He will be composing music for the film Ondu Maathu which will be directed by Vishwas. Preethi Singh is the heroine of this film.
Ever since his first directorial venture My Autograph was released, Actor Sudeep seems to be enjoying good times. Sudeep's recent film Hubballi directed by Om Prakash Rao has opened to a fantastic response. Now, the happy news is that Sudeep will play an important role in Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar directed Mathaad Mathaad Mallige. Sudeep will be joining the unit of Mathaad Mathaad Mallige in the shooting schedule to be held in Honnavara and Kumta. Dr. Vishnuvardhan and Suhashini Manirathnam play the lead roles in the film produced by K. Manju. Mathaad Mathaad Mallige is an issue-based film focussing on problems of farmers.
The big wedding
Rakshitha has announced that her marriage with Prem is likely to take place early next year. But before her marriage celebrations, the actor is getting a god response for her performance in the recently released Hubballi in which she is teamed up with Sudeep. "It is a comic role, and I am glad that people are liking it. I have another film Thaayiya Madilu directed by S. Narayan, which has also more prominent focus on comedy. I hope that would also come good," says Rakshitha. Incidentally, Rakshitha is accompanying her fiancee Prem for the shooting of Thaayiya Madilu to be shot in Amsterdam. Rakshitha will be part of the Preethi Eke Bhoomi Melidhe shoot, which is taking place in Egypt from November 14. Prem is being launched as a hero in this film.
In Rajeeva Vijaya Raghavendra and Rakshitha are playing police officers of the city crime branch directed by Ravi Srivathsa. Ravi Belagere has made a small appearance in the film. "His role may be small but is nevertheless important," said director Ravi Srivatsa. Earlier Vijay and Rakshitha, two main stars of the film participated in a song sequence of the film. The song which also features 40 dancers was shot in a set erected in the Abbaiyya Naidu Studios. Harish Rai, Vijay, Nagashekhar are also playing lead roles in the film produced by Shobha Rajanna. Sudha Murthy, the Chairperson of the Infosys Foundation, recently joined the list of celebrities who have made their presence of the silver screen. Last Sunday, Sudha Murthy faced the television cameras for the popular serial Preethi Illada Mele in which she is playing a judge's role. Ms. Murthy laid several conditions to Vinu Ballanja, the director of the serial, before taking up the offer. One of the conditions is that she will be speaking in North Karnataka dialect and will turn up for shooting only on Sundays.
