MUSIC There will be an all-night music festival this weekend

R enuka Sangeeth Sabha, Bangalore, has organised an all night music Sangeeth Samaroh “Smruthi”.

The event is a musical tribute to well-known vocalist late Pandit Arjunsa Nakod. Director of the Department of Kannada and Culture Manu Baligar and industrialist Hari Khoday will inaugurate the function.

The artists who will perform at the Sangeeth Samaroh are vocalists Pandit Rajshekhar Mansur, Padma Talwalkar and Pandit Surendrasa Nakod and Hindustani\Carnatic jugalbandi vocalists M.S. Sheela and Meeta Pandit, tabla player Abhijith Banerjee and violinist Kala Ramnath .

The accompanists are the following: Vishwanath Nakod and Rajendra Nakod on the tabla, Vyasamurthy Katti, Ravindra Katoti, Gopinath Nakod and Satish Kolli on the harmonium, C.N. Chandrashekhar on the violin and Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma on the mridanga. The Sangeeth Samaroh will be performed at Ravindra Kalakshetra, J.C. Road, Bangalore on Saturday, 9 p.m. onwards.
