EVENT Chitraleka Dance Company performs

C hitraleka Dance Company, a UK based company is collaborating with Nritarutya, the Bangalore based production company to tour their joint dance production “Maya – Ayam” in both countries.

Out of the four renowned UK and India dancers who are featured in this dance production who specialise in Bharatanatyam and contemporary styles, two are Madhuri Upadhya, Associate Director and Choreographer of Nritarutya and Geetha Ballal, Principal Dancer of Nritarutya.

Chitraleka Bolar and Hari Krishnan's choreography blends the classical Indian dance style of Bharatanatyam with contemporary movements and Mayuri Upadhya and Sathya B.G.'s choreography draws from folk and martial art idioms along with Indian contemporary movements, creating a stunning production of dance combined with evocative digital imagery, multimedia projection and spectacular lighting design.

The music has been composed by Praveen Rao and Raghu Dixit. The show will be held at KH Kalasoudha, Ramanjaneya Gudda, Gavipuram Extension, Hanumanthanagar on January 8 at 7 p.m., for details call 9845031413.
