Five classical artistes come together to perform “Essence of Life”, a multi-media production that is inspired by the teachings of J. Krishnamurti on February 22.
Kathak dancer Pali Chandra, Odissi exponent Msako Ono, Mohiniyattam dancer Rashmi Menon Bharatnatyam exponent Smitha Madhav, and Kuchipudu dancer Prateeksha Kashi will perform in the production by Dega arts (produced and conceptualised by Dega Dev Reddy).
“Essence of Life” hopes to explore deeper existential issues through the different dance forms, to express how the cause and the resolution of all our misery and problems lie in one’s own hands.
The five classical dance traditions featured in the production are Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam and Odissi. The performance also features compositions by musicians B. Sivaramakrishna Rao and D.A. Srinivas sung by singers Hariharan, Sanjeev Abhyankar and Shareth.
“Essence of Life” will be performed on Friday, February 22 at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bangalore between 6 p.m. and 8.30 p.m.
