Dil Bole Hadippa!

YRF Music, Rs. 149

One more Punjabi album for a Hindi film! Lyricists Jaideep Sahni has left no stone unturned to find rhyming words in Punjabi.

But it seems the language is not his forte because what we get is just confusion. When you have to write four songs, you better give your best.

We know the film is set in Punjab, but every song need not have bhangra beats and if you are repeating the genre, at least give us variety.

Both ‘Hadippa’ and ‘Discowale khisko’ sound the same. Pritam has unabashedly repeated himself and Sunidhi Chauhan and Mika are in tow. He revs up the volume and sets the innuendo-filled antaras to bhangra beats and dhol.

“Ishq Hi Hai Rab” is the only track that sounds different. But soon Pritam lounges himself in “Bhangra Bistar”. Then there are the usual remixes.

Perhaps to cover up the shoddy job, YRF has given a free CD of its past hits with the album.
