Bharat Kalachar will celebrate the 26{+t}{+h}Margazhi Mahotsavam, from December 1 to January 15, 2013. The fest will be inaugurated on Dec. 1, 5 p.m., at Vani Mahal, T. Nagar. The sabha will honour many artists for their service to the fine arts. The following is the list of awards and awardees:

Gnana Lala Bharathi – Prof. T.N. Krishnan (violin).

Viswa Kala Bharathi – Kadri Gopalnath (saxophone) and Lakshmi Viswanathan (Bharatanatyam).

Natya Kaladhar – Lakshmi (Tamil cinema).

Acharya Kala Bharathi – M.V. Narasimhachari and Vasanthalakshmi Narasimhachari.

Kala Seva Bharathi – Ramya Harishankar (Bharatanatyam – overseas) and Parvathi Ravi Ghantasala (Bharatanatyam).

Nadaga Kala Bharathi – T.D. Sundararajan (Tamil drama).

Special Commendation award – Thanjavur T.R. Govindarajan (thavil), Uma Sriram (Bharatanatyam).

Special Commendation awards for Naatya Sangeetham – Hariprasad (vocal), Sikamani (violin), Nellai D. Kannan (mridangam), Swamimalai Suresh (vocal, nattuvangam and choreography).

The following is the list of Yuva Kala Bharathi awardees.

Vocal – Sriranjani Santhanagopalan, Rithvik Raja, Aditya Prakash.

Violin – K.P. Nandhini.

Flute – T. Suresh and J.A. Jayanth.
