Nominees of the inaugural Asia Pacific Screen Awards, the region’s highest accolade in film in 2007, have been announced. The films in contention for the best feature film are “Caramal” (Lebanon), “Night Bus” (Autobus-e-Shab) (Iran), “Opera Jawa” (Indonesia), “Secret Sunshine” (Miryang) (Republic of Korea) and “Takva: A Man’s Fear Of God” (Turkey). India is also making its presence felt with Feroz Abbas Khan getting nominated for best screenplay for “Gandhi My Father.” The Awards will be presented at a ceremony on the Gold Coast, Australia, on November 13, following deliberation by a distinguished international jury headed by Shabana Azmi.
