Sanjana Galrani has made a controversial debut with “Ganda Hendthi” and is quite excited about her four new projects in Kannada and Telugu. She has bagged two big films in Telugu, quite an achievement for this actress who had done a small role in Puri Jagannath’s Telugu film “Bujjigaadu”. Within days of the film’s release, Sanjana has been able to sign a big film with Rajashekhar, which will be directed by his wife Jeevitha. The film “Sathyameva Jayathe” is a remake of the Hindi hit “Khakki” directed by Raj Kumar Santhoshi. “I have got an opportunity to prove my talent. I play a homely girl’s character in the film,” says Sanjana.
Soundarya Jagadish was well-known in the film industry as a film financier. He was always known as a compassionate person who extended a helping hand to needy producers. Now, Jagadish has turned a producer with the film, “Mast Majaa Maadi” which will have four heroes of the Kannada film industry working together. Two of the best-known young actors Sudeep and Vijaya Raghavendra are working together for the first time in this film. Incidentally, both Sudeep and Vijaya Raghavendra are best of friends.
Diganth and Nagakiran are the other heroes, while Komal will have another important role in this film. The film will be directed by Anantu who has already become director with Nandu with hatrick hero Shivaraj Kumar.
Pooja Gandhi is keeping her fingers crossed now, even as her forthcoming film “Taj Mahal” is hitting theatres shortly. Pooja has many releases like “Anu”, “Maharshi” that will release in the next two months, but somehow it is “Taj Mahal” about which she seems to be quite excited. “I hope it turns out to be a big hit. All of us including the film’s director Chandru have worked so hard in the film that we always remember the days of shooting with fond memories.
It is a youthful love story and I am sure people will see the difference in this film,” adds Pooja.
Incidentally, Pooja’s sister Radhika’s debut film “Chikkamagaloora Chikkamallige” is also ready for release. The preview of the film was seen by a few in the industry including actor Ramesh Arvind who feels that Radhika will be an exciting prospect in the Kannada film industry in the future. Radhika apparently has done a remarkable job in this film. “She has a good screen presence too,” says veteran actor C.R. Simha who is Radhika’s co-actor in the film.
Actor-Producer Jayamala is showing signs of what she is up to within a few days after she took over as the President of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. Besides meeting the Chief Minister, the actress also met the state Police Chief to strongly urge for strict action against video piracy.
And the lady is also insisting that films which focus on women’s problems should be given Rs. 25 lakh subsidy as in the case of children’s films. Jayamala feels that the 75th anniversary of the Kannada film industry to be celebrated in a big way and wants the state government to help the KFCC in conducting this big event.
