Ahobala Shankara translated around 23 works. While most of them are works by Tagore, he has also translated Sharathchandra Chatterjee, Bankimchandra Chatterjee, Biren Das, Tara Shankar Bandopadhay, Manik Bandopadhyay, Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay, Bimal Mitra and EMS Namboodaripad. Kavyalaya Mysore published most of his works, and as per records available to us, the earliest one was Vinodini, a translation of Tagore’s novel Choker Bali, in 1955. His most enduring work, that was recently reprinted is the Ravindra Katha Manjari in three volumes.

H. V. Savitramma infused her writing with energy and enthusiasm of her times. Her grandfather H.V. Nanjundiah was the first president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat and the first chancellor of Mysore University. She is the recipient of the Soviet Land award, Kannada Sahitya Academy award among others. An anthology of her stories "Samastha Kathegalu" has been published by Abhinava.
