Speedy Singhs

A hockey enthusiast since 12, Toronto-based Rajvinder Singh goes to the extent of trimming his hair, and discarding his turban, incurring the wrath of his staunch Sikh father, Darvesh, who wants him to get involved in the family business. Hoping to play professional hockey, Rajvinder, along with other fellow Sikh players, finds himself treated as the object of ridicule by mainstream Caucasian players. He is attracted to law student Melissa Winters while her brother, Dan, offers to coach Rajvinder and his team.

Unable to get themselves included in any team, they form their own team. The cast includes Vinay Virmani, Camilla Belle, Anupam Kher, Russell Peters and Akshay Kumar.

What Women Want

Nick (Mel Gibson), a somewhat chauvinistic advertising exec hot shot, has his life turned haywire when a freak accident enables him to hear what women think.

At first, all he wants to do is rid himself of this curse, until a wacky psychologist shows him that this could be used to his advantage!

His first target is Darcy McGuire (Helen Hunt), the very woman who got the promotion he wanted. But just as his plan is beginning to work, love gets in the way.

The 3-D action-thriller follows a team of underwater cave divers on a treacherous expedition to the largest, most beautiful and least accessible cave on Earth. When a tropical storm forces them deep into the caverns, they must fight raging water, deadly terrain and creeping panic as they search for an unknown escape route to the sea. Master diver Frank McGuire has explored the South Pacific's Esaala Caves for months. But when his exit is cut off in a flash flood, Frank’s team-including 17-year-old son Josh and financier Carl Hurley are forced to radically alter plans. The cast has Richard Roxburgh, Rhys Wakefield and Alice Parkinson.

Ghost Ship

(Movies Now, Saturday, 9 p.m.)

Jack (Desmond Harrington) is a pilot in the Canadian Air Force. He finds a strange ship floating off the coast of Alaska. He gets together a team to investigate.

They are amazed to find the remains of Antonia Graza, a ship that had been lost at sea four decades ago. Since it has been found on international waters, the salvage rights would belong to Jack and his men and that could be a huge fortune. Little do they know of the horrors awaiting them on board. Gabriel Byrne, Julianna Margulies, Emily Browning and Desmond Harrington play the main roles.

The Green Hornet

(STAR Movies, Monday, 6.30 p.m.)

Playboy Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) becomes the new publisher of Los Angeles’ The Daily Sentinel after the sudden death of his father. Britt’s party life is about to change when he and his driver and kung fu expert, Kato (Jay Chou), stop a robbery. With the help of Kato, Britt starts a new career of fighting crime as the masked superhero, The Green Hornet.

Vanilla Sky

(WB Movies, Saturday, 6. 15 p.m.)

David (Tom Cruise) is the only son of a wealthy business tycoon. Most people around him believe David is a spoilt brat. His parents die in an accident and David acquires the family company.

A friend of David’s brings a girl to a party. He falls for her and wants to know more about her. He flirts with her unaware that a jealous ex-girlfriend is watching. Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz are the female leads.

Double Team

(Fox Action Movies, Friday, 9 p.m.)

Jack Quinn (Jean-Claude Van Damme) works as an anti-terrorist. He misses his target, Stavros (Mickey Rourke) at the end of his mission. Jack escapes from the colony of presumed dead assassins and takes Yaz's (Dennis Rodman) help in his final battle with Stavros.
