Most of the participants die, but the winner is allowed to go free. Jensen Ames (Jason Statham) is arrested for his wife's murder and is sent to Terminal Island. Rachel Marron (Whitney Houston) is a music superstar who is being stalked. Frank Farmer (Kevin Costner) is a professional bodyguard and former secret service agent. He's hired to protect Rachel. Rachel's career soars while Frank is always there in the background, ensuring her safety. Thrown into his company constantly, Rachel is attracted to him and they have a brief affair. But, soon Frank keeps her at arms’ length and moves on when his role as bodyguard is no longer required.
