Chander Kapoor (Bobby Deol) lives with his father who is more like his friend. Chander helps his friend, Jay, elope with Neena, the daughter of a police inspector (Mukesh Rishi). Neena’s friend, Pooja (Karisma Kapoor) falls in love with Chander and decides to play a prank on him by making anonymous phone calls. Chander is initially disturbed by the calls but once he learns of Pooja’s prank, he too falls for her. Things are fine till Chander learns that Pooja has been abducted.

Sunil (Shahrukh Khan), Anna (Suchitra Krishnamoorthy) and Chris (Deepak Tijori) are thick friends. Sunil who comes from a middle class family wants to pursue his career in music, but his father (Anjan Srivastav) is against his decision. Sunil is in love with Anna, but she loves Chris. Sunil tries to convince Anna that Chris is not suitable for her. But when things do not work out, he decides to forget Anna. But can he?
