One Car Too Far
(Discovery Channel, Saturday, 9 p.m.)
Watch British Special Forces operative Gary Humphrey and American car enthusiast Bill Wu as they are dropped into remote and foreign landscapes and forced to survive by their wits and wheels. See them plot and pilot their car through treacherous terrain, mountain tops, rain forests and come up with unheard of roadside repair techniques.
(Discovery Channel, Monday, 9 p.m.)
The programme investigates various aviation disasters that have occurred over time and reveals how and why tragedy still happens today. This new series will explore why, despite repeated warnings, terrorists remain one step ahead of airport security, and how sometimes only a seating plan error has managed to save hundreds of people from being blown up in mid-air. Using powerful personal accounts from survivors, pilots and witnesses as well as comments from aviation experts and CGI special effects, each episode will explore how human error can never be entirely eliminated.
