Classic Legends: Pran

The iconic villain of the Hindi screen, Pran Krishan Sikand began his celluloid journey in Lahore with the Punjabi film ‘Yamla Jat’ in 1925. The director Dalsukh Pancholi later cast him in ‘Khandaan’ (1942), which was the first Hindi movie in which Pran played a romantic hero opposite Noor Jehan. He arrived in Bombay on August 14, 1947 and in 1948, he got a chance to star in the Bombay Talkies film, ‘Ziddi’ directed by Shaheed Latif, which had Dev Anand and Kamini Kaushal. Janki (Jayaprada) and Lalita (Sridevi) are sisters. Janki is in love with Ram (Jeetendra) and takes care of his mother while he is in the city for higher education.
But when he returns, he falls for the younger Lalita. Meanwhile, Ram’s mother promises his hand to Janki. When the excited Janki tells Lalita, the younger one sacrifices her life for her elder sister by getting married to Kamesh (Shakti Kapoor), the village drunk.

Sonia (Isha Kopikkar), the a casino owner in Goa, is distressed when her young son goes missing. She offers a huge reward to the one who brings her son back. Raj (Shahid Kapoor) and Priya (Kareena Kapoor) are two strangers who find the child. Together decide to return him to his mother and share the reward. But, when they reach Sonia's house late at night, they find her dead.
The frightened Raj and Priya run from the place but leave their suitcase and footprints behind. Inspector Karan (Akshaye Khanna), handling the case, finds that the case gets murkier by the day.
