Last Action Hero

Danny Madigan is a big fan of Jack Slater, a larger-than-life action hero played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. When his friend, Nick the projectionist, gives him a magic ticket to the new Jack Slater film, Danny is transported into Slater's world, where the good guys always win. One of Slater's enemies, Benedict the Hitman, gets hold of the ticket and ends up in Danny's world, where he realises that if he can kill Schwarzenegger, Slater will be dead.

Howard Beale (Peter Finch) is an ageing TV anchor who is fired as his ratings have been dropping steadily. He retaliates by making a sensational announcement on air that he is going to commit suicide on live TV. This makes Howard a television icon overnight. He is given his own show to host. Faye Dunaway, William Holden, Peter Finch and Robert Duvall are in the cast.

Napoleon

A family adventure, this heartwarming film tells the tale of a golden retriever puppy which takes off on a journey across the Australian outback in search of a home.

When the ambitious King Xerxes of Persia invades Greece with his huge army to extend his slave empire, the brave Ling Leonidas brings his personal body guard army composed of 300 warriors to defend the passage of Thermopylae, the only way by land to reach Greece. Using courage and the skill of his men, he defends Thermopylae until a treacherous Greek citizen tells Xerxes a secret goat passage leading to the back of Leonidas's army. Meanwhile, his wife Queen Gorgo tries to convince the council to send the Spartan army to fight against the Persians. This fantasy actioner stars Gerard Butler, Lena Headey and Dominic West.

Striptease

(WB, Sunday, 9 p.m.)

Demi Moore stars as Erin Grant in this crime drama. When Erin loses custody of her daughter when she divorce husband Darrell, she becomes a dancer at a nightclub, to survive. There, Congressman Dilbeck (in disguise) attacks another member of the audience. A spectator, who recognizes Dilbeck and is fond of Erin, offers to get back her daughter by blackmailing Dilbeck. Things do not work out as planned, though.

Puss in Boots

(HBO, Sunday, 7.10 p.m.)

Years before meeting Shrek and Donkey, the adorable but tricky Puss in Boots must clear his name from all charges making him a wanted fugitive. While trying to steal magic beans from the infamous criminals Jack and Jill, the hero crosses paths with his female match, Kitty Softpaws, who leads Puss to his old friend, but now enemy, Humpty Dumpty.

Memories of friendship and betrayal enlarge Puss's doubt, but he eventually agrees to help the egg get the magic beans. Together, the three plan to steal the beans, get to the Giant's castle, nab the golden goose, and clear Puss' name. The voices include Antonio Banderas (Puss in Boots), Salma Hayek (Kitty Softpaws), Zach Galifianakis (Humpty Alexander Dumpty), Billy Bob Thornton (Jack) and Amy Sedaris (Jill).
