A workshop on “VLSI Design using Cadence EDA Tools” organised at Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, CMR Engineering College in association with Cadence Design Systems, Bangalore, exposed students to various tools and new areas in the subject.

Around 60 students from different colleges take part.

Principal A.S. Reddy inaugurated the workshop, which was meant to train the faculty, students and industry personnel in using cadence tools for IC design & verification.

C. Ashok Kumar, HoD of ECE said that workshop bridged the gap between theory and practice. Vice-chairman Ch. Bhoopal Reddy and secretary Ch. Srisailam Reddy also spoke explaining how the workshops help students gain practical knowledge.


CMR Technical Campus, Department of Electronics Communication Engineering, organised a guest lecture on “Digital VLSI for Signal Processing System and Low-Power Design Methodologies” in association with ISTE Hyderabad Chapter and Students Activity Cell.

Amit Acharyya, assistant professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT-Hyderabad spoke on several aspects related to digital VLSI and signal processing system and the emerging technologies in the sector. A. Raji Reddy, Chairman-ISTE, Tara Saikumar, Treasurer-ISTE, G.Srikanth, HoD, ECE department were present.
