Triumphant Institute of Management Education (T.I.M.E.), India’s leading entrance exams coaching institute, has launched a classroom training course for Bank PO (probationary officers) and Clerical exam aspirants.

The selection process normally consists of written test and a GD and Personal Interview round. The written test will have objective-type questions or a combination of objective and descriptive-type tests. State Bank of India recently introduced a preliminary exam in addition to the written test and interview.

The exam has questions from the areas of Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, English, and General Awareness. According to Manek Daruwala, Director, T.I.M.E., “As the subjects are similar to that of CAT/MAT and other MBA entrance exams, students will benefit from our experience.”

The financial year 2008-09 has already witnessed the banking sector to be one of the largest job providers in the country with over 50,000 vacancies being notified. As per McKinsey & Company’s report ‘India Banking 2010,’ the banking sector index has grown at a compounded annual rate of over 51 per cent since 2001 as compared to a 27 per cent growth in the market index for the same period. It is projected that the sector has the potential to account for over 7.7 per cent of the GDP with over Rs. 7,500 billion in market cap and to provide over 1.5 million jobs.
