The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) will be held on May 31 for admission to the five-year integrated M.Sc. programmes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics conducted by the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and the University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy (UM-DAE) Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, both autonomous institutions under the Union government.
Apply online on www.nestexam.in anytime from January 7 to March 8. Those selected get an INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) scholarship of Rs. 60,000 a year offered by the Department of Science and Technology and Rs. 20,000 for summer internship.
Admission to the Integrated Science Education and Research Centre of Visva-Bharati, Kolkata, will also be done through NEST.
Those who have passed Plus Two in the Science stream in 2012 or 2013 with minimum 60 per cent marks or equivalent grade and those appearing for the qualifying test may apply. Applications can be submitted offline also.

JIPMER PG entrance test
The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, under the Union government, has invited applications for the medical postgraduate entrance examination to be held on February 23 for admission to its MD and MS programmes starting in April. Apply online on www.jipmer.edu.in on or before January 31.
The application fee of Rs. 1,000 (Rs. 800 for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and the physically challenged) may be paid through Net banking or credit or debit card. The entrance examination will be held in Thiruvananthapuram, Coimbatore, Chennai, Puducherry, Bangalore, Mumbai, New Delhi, Lucknow, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati and Kolkata.
