KVPY aptitude test
Apply online for the national-level aptitude test Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) to be held on October 27 across the country. The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, conducts the test for high school and college students who are interested in pursuing courses in basic sciences and careers in research.
Those who qualify in the test are eligible to get fellowships of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 7,000 a month for their studies in Plus Two, B.Sc., BS, B.Stat., B.Math or integrated M.Sc. or MS programmes.
The KVPY examination will be conducted in the following streams.
SA: For students enrolled in Plus One in science subjects during the academic year 2013-14 who have secured minimum 80 per cent marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects in the 10th Standard Board examination.
SX: For students enrolled in Class 12 in science subjects during the academic year 2013-14 and aspiring to join undergraduate programme in basic sciences. They must have secured minimum 80 per cent marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects in the 10th standard Board examination.
SB: For students enrolled in the first year of B.Sc., BS, B.Stat., B.Math or integrated M.Sc. and MS programmes during the academic year 2013-14 who have secured minimum 60 per cent marks in aggregate in Science subjects in the Plus Two Board examination.
Each stream has its own application form. Students may apply either online on www.kvpy.org.in or by post. Application form and details can be downloaded from the website. Online application may done till August 29.
MBA at IIFT
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has invited applications for admission to an MBA programme in International Business on its New Delhi and Kolkata campuses. Graduates in any discipline and those appearing in the final degree examination are eligible to apply online on www.iift.edu by clicking on the icon “Admissions 2014.”
The last date for the receipt of completed applications is September 3. The hard copy of the completed application form, along with documents and fee, should be sent to the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, B-21, Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi-110 016.
Selection will be on the basis of a written test which will be held on November 24 across the country, followed by a group discussion, essay writing and an interview. Visit www.iift.edu for more details.
