The Institute of Archaeology of the Archaeological Survey of India, Delhi, has invited applications for an entrance test to be held on September 3 for admission to a two-year postgraduate diploma course in Archaeology. Short-listed candidates will then have to attend an interview on September 5 and 6.
Those who have a Master’s degree in Ancient or Medieval Indian History; Archaeology; Anthropology; any language from Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit, Arabic or Persian; or Geology with knowledge of the Pleistocene age and a minimum aggregate of 55 per cent marks (50 per cent for reserved categories) may apply. Students aged up to 25 as on August 31, 2013, relaxed for the reserved sections, may apply. Applications have been invited for a common aptitude test to be held in New Delhi on August 3 for admission to a one-year postgraduate diploma course in integrated geriatric care to be held under the National Initiative on Care for the Elderly in New Delhi. There will be a group discussion and an interview.
The course aims to develop a cadre of skilled personnel at managerial and supervisory levels to meet the demand for providing skill-based, field-oriented, trained personnel in age care in the non-governmental organisation sector.
The course covers subjects such as Gerontology, Public Policy and Planning, Clinical Geriatrics, Geriatric Management, Psychology and Counselling and Research Methodology. A degree in any discipline, preferably in Sociology, Social Work, Social Welfare, Anthropology, Psychology, Nursing, Home Science or related fields, and a certificate, experience or training in age-care organisations may apply. The candidates should be between the ages of 21 and 45 as on October 1, 2012. There are 20 seats. There is no course fee.
