Film institute entrance test

The Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, under the Union government, has invited applications for its August 3 entrance test for admission to three-year, full-time postgraduate diploma courses in direction and screen-play writing; cinematography; editing; and audiography.

Ten seats are available for each discipline. Graduates in any discipline from a recognised university are eligible to apply. For the audiography course, one should have studied physics at the higher secondary level.

The entrance test will be held at Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata and so on.

Application forms and details can be downloaded from www.srfti.gov.in. Completed applications, along with the processing fee, should be sent to the Director, Admission 2008, Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, EM Bypass Road, P.O. Panchasayar, Kolkata – 700 094.

The processing fee of Rs. 1,200 (Rs. 700 for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) should be in the form of a crossed demand draft in favour of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, payable at Kolkata. The last date for receipt of the completed application forms is July 11.

Nanomedical sciences

The Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has invited applications for its May 11 entrance test for admission to the M.Tech. nanomedical sciences course conducted at the Amrita Centre for Nanosciences, Kochi. Those having M.Sc., B.Tech., M.Pharm., MBBS or BDS degrees are eligible for admission. Those with GATE scores are encouraged to apply.

M.Sc. food technology

The Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, has invited applications for an entrance and aptitude test to be held at Mysore and New Delhi on July 20 for admission to the two-year M.Sc. food technology course.

B.Sc. degree holders who have studied chemistry or biochemistry as one of the subjects and with 55 per cent marks in the optional subjects (50 per cent for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) or those having second-class B.Sc. agriculture, BE or B.Tech. degrees may apply. Applicants should have studied mathematics as one of the subjects in the 12th standard or at the degree course.
