Students honoured

Medals and books were distributed to 256 meritorious students at the second Awards Day of Yadava College held recently. K. P. Navaneetha Krishnan, correspondent, presided. The Principal, P. Rengan, welcomed the gathering. Gomathi Chockalingam donated books and a steel cupboard to the library in memory of her husband, founder-Principal T. A. Chockalingam. The Librarian, M. Muniyasamy, proposed a vote of thanks.

The Department of Tamil of the Yadava College organised ‘Muthamzh Vizha’ recently, featuring talk on literature and a play. Ilampirai Manimaran, in her keynote address, said the Tamils were the root cause of international integrity. She also spoke about the aesthetic appeal of Tamil literature. The Head, Department of Tamil, V. Mohan, welcomed and V. Gopal proposed a vote of thanks.
