A blood donation camp was conducted jointly by Osmania Hospital and Joginpally B.R. Engineering College at the college and it was inaugurated by Partha Sarathi, Project Director of A.P. State AIDS Control Society.
He said that awareness was very important for controlling AIDS and young students and people should come forward to donate blood at least once in three months by enrolling in blood banks.
He inspired the students not only choose a bright career but also serve society by donating blood, kidneys and eyes.
Ratnavali. K, coordinator and vice-president, Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society, explained the dreadful disease and how human being by early detection can avoid being a carrier.
She requested for blood donation to save the children. Nimma Naik, NSS programme coordinator, JNTU(H) D.N. Rao, principal, T.P. Baru, Director(HR) and G. Naveen, NSS coordinator JBREC also spoke.
