Social responsibility is the much talked about word but rarely put into practice by many. But students of Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Dundigal are contributing their mite to the society even as they are in college.

Vanguards, a social organisation formed by the students adopted the Telugu medium Government School at Gagilapoor near Dundigal to improve its infrastructure and also functioning. Recently Vanguards organised a career workshop for the students of 8 {+t} {+h}, 9 {+t} {+h} and 10 {+t} {+h} classes to create awareness about various career opportunities after the completion of 10th standard and familiarise them with the exams to be taken in order to pursue those careers.

Voluntary effort

“It was an effort put together by a group of 50 volunteers who also organised several other competitions like essay writing, elocution and painting competitions for the students of the lower classes and gave away prizes to the winners,” said A. Gopala Krishna, a final year student.

“The government school is in a very pathetic condition with no teachers and no washrooms for children. So Vanguards has decided to teach the children on every Saturday. Construction of washrooms will be executed in the near future,” says R.D.Riti, a student. The organisation was initially formed by a former student of the college, Gopal Bhargav, which eventually developed into a society for social service.
