The department of postgraduate and research in Human Science of Justice Basheer Sayeed College for Women organised an international seminar on ‘Research: think, create and communicate' recently.
The keynote speaker of the London Metropolitan University, Catherine Lee, threw light on the broad domains in the Researcher Development Framework followed in UK. Dr. Varsha, nutritionist, inaugurated the event.
The technical sessions featured lectures on ‘Identifying research problems and funding options' by G. Koteswara Prasad of the University of Madras, and ‘Right methods — reliable research' by S. Sathikh, former vice-chancellor, University of Madras.
The other areas of focus were Ethical Considerations and Patenting in Research, a session by Ram Kumar, Patent lawyer, Patent and Trade Mark Attorney; and eco-friendly conservation of resources, a session by Sultan Ahmed Ismail, soil biologist.
