Management students who in future queue up for a job in a market of diminishing opportunities got to know the view from the other side of the interview table.

The ‘reverse recruitment’ session was among the highlights of the inter-collegiate management fest organised by the Department of Management Studies, Anna University, Chennai. The competitive event ‘Be the Boss’ exposed participants to the recruiting challenge as they were asked to make their choice from among three competent candidates in a span of six minutes.

About 500 MBA aspirants from over 60 B-schools across the State battled it out for honours at the event, Corsseus ’09 (which translates into ‘warriors of change’). The competitive sessions were split into four on-stage and an equal number of off-stage events. The tough task of deciding the winners in closely-fought contests belonged to a jury comprising 20 industry leaders.

If ‘Renaissance’ event that involved redesigning and re-branding already successful brands put to test the imaginative and creative skills of the contestants, the ‘Smitten Sting’ segment highlighted the ever-increasing relevance of the media and media management skills.
