M.V.V. Nagi Reddy, principal of Akkineni Nageswara Rao College, Gudivada, has been awarded Ph.D. for his work on ‘Synthesis, characterisation and phase transition studies in some liquid crystals' under the guidance of Dr. Datta Prasad, reader in physics, Hindu College, Machilipatnam.

Dr. Nagi Reddy thanked Prof. P.V.G.K Murthy (Retd). College president Kolli Koteswara Rao, secretary and correspondent P. Nageswara Rao, treasurer K.S. Appa Rao and others congratulated him.

NSS camp

The Lakireddy Bali Reddy College of Engineering conducted an NSS special camp in the MPUP School, Pondugala Village, Mylavaram. College director L.S.S. Reddy delivered the inaugural address.

He advised the students to follow the examples of the college management for their contribution to the society with their charitable activities. NSS coordinator M. Nageswara Rao, JNTU Kakinada, appreciated the efforts of the college in conducting NSS programmes. Headmistress Lakshmi Nancharamma and NSS unit coordinator P. Ashok Reddy also spoke.

Placement drive

The executives of the HCL Technologies, Chennai, conducted a campus placement drive at the Nimra Group of Institutions, Ibrahimpatnam recently. Robert Nandakumar of HCL Technologies and B.V.S. Prasad and Shabbir Ahmed of Nimra placement wing were present. College secretary and correspondent Dr. Mohammed Rasool Khan congratulated the selected students on the occasion.
