National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) University of Law in collaboration with the Institute of Applied Aviation Management (IAAM), Calicut has launched a one-year ‘post graduate diploma in aviation law and air transport management’ at NALSAR campus.

The course was inaugurated by Justice L. Narasimha Reddy, Judge of High Court of Andhra Pradesh.

Regulatory aspects

Emphasising the importance of aviation education, he highlighted the significance of the regulatory aspects for a fast growing aviation industry.

Advances made by aeronautics are so tremendous that globalisation of air transport operations is now a commonplace for mankind.

In this scenario, law must keep pace with the growth of air transport, he said.

Pat for NALSAR-IAAM team

Delivering the welcome address, Vice Chancellor of NALSAR, Veer Singh congratulated the NALSAR-IAAM team for the timely launch of the programme. Being a unique programme, it would help youth acquire coveted aviation jobs both in India and abroad. NALSAR – IAAM initiative will establish further centres in India and abroad.

Delivering the presidential address PCK Ravindran, Chairman of IAAM and a leading air transport expert and advisor to the UAE, briefly outlined air transport growth both in India and in the Asia-Pacific region and highlighted the need for quality aviation education to meet the phenomenal aviation growth.


V. Balakista Reddy, professor of international law and head, Centre for Air and Space, NALSAR University highlighted that the NALSAR-IAAM tie-up institutionalises the academic-industry partnership in the domains of air transport management and aviation law, which makes it a unique qualification. NALSAR is the only university in India and one of the few worldwide offering an aviation law course.
