GITAM School of International Business (GSIB), hosted the regional round of the 9th National Student Quiz (NSQ) organized by the All India Management Association (AIMA) in GITAM University. Around 100 teams comprising two students each participated in the event conducted by the college for the second time. The quiz- based on current affairs, sports, entertainment, advertising and brand knowledge, was targeted at a broad segment of students from undergraduate and post-graduate levels. The Quiz comprised of a written round and an oral round. All the participant teams appeared for the written round after which six teams in all were short listed for the oral round. The oral round consisted of a clue round, audio-visual round and a buzzer round. The quiz master was Adityanath Mubayi who kept the audience engaged. Finally the two leading teams were short listed for the final round of NSQ to be held at Delhi on April 6. The two winning teams were: Ch Vishnu Teja and R Sachin Kumar, MBA students from GITAM Institute of Management (GIM) and Souvik Paul and Harekrushna Mishra MBA (International Business) students from GITAM School of International Business (GSIB).
SAMBHAV’13: Sambhav’13 an annual B-School fest was organized at GITAM School of International Business, GITAM University, Visakhapatnam. Students from various B-Schools across India participated.
150 students of MBA and MHRM program at GITAM Institute of Management got placed in campus recruitment drive conducted by various National and MNC’s on campus. This year most of the jobs offered to the MBA students were specialized in Marketing followed by Finance, HR and Banking and Insurance. Some of the roles offered were: Business Development Manager, Financial / Business Analyst, Management Trainee, Consultant, Team Leader, Coach. The Trident Hotels of Oberoi Group offered Rs. 12 lakhs to MBA students. LIC housing finance offered s package of Rs. 7.5 lakhs.
600 GITAM University students passed the prestigious Cambridge Business English Certificates (BEC) exam conducted by British Council. BEC is an internationally recognized qualification in English for work. It is trusted by employers and universities in more than 60 countries. It is taken by students and young professionals around the world who want to improve their job prospects.
GVP Degree College (autonomous) celebrated “placement day” in the seminar hall of MVP Colony campus. D. Dakshinamurty, Secretary and Correspondent congratulated the students who got selected in reputed companies like L&T, Wipro, TCS and CTS. Prof P. Rajaganapti, Founder member of the college, congratulated the Placement team of the college for their efforts. More than 288 students from GVP Degree College have been employed in the software sector from between 2011-13. GVP School of engineering, technical campus also celebrated annual day.
The Training and Placement Cell of BITS (Baba Institute of Technology and Sciences) organised an off-campus drive by Chennai based Kocher Tech for all streams of B.Tech students at BITS Campus. 200 students form 12 colleges participated in this drive and 30 students were selected. Sutherland Global Services also conducted an off-campus drive. Out of the 260 students from various colleges that took part 20 students were selected.
A two-day National Techno Fest was conducted at Sanketika Vidya Parishad Engineering College, PM Palem. G.S.N. Reddy, Vice President, Coromandal Fertilizers, Visakhapatnam was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion he stressed on the need to inculcate competitive spirit among young technocrats. Technical, cultural and sports events were conducted. The hardware expo, robotics, LAN gaming, model presentations showcased the talent of SVP engineering college. The demonstration of lie detector, shadow alarm, automatic speed controller attracted the guests. A Bharathanatyam performance by Leepika Reddy mesmerized the audience. Chief Guest of the valedictory function was S.V. Praveen, Director, Operations, LG Polymers, Visakhapatnam. Guest of honour at the valedictory was D.V.S.S. Somayajulu, Vice President ACA.
