Exposing students to varsities abroad

In a new initiative to expose their best students to the best teachers and institutions abroad, the Guru Nanak Institutions has sent five of its top students of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) & Electronics & Communications Engineering (ECE) to week-long International workshop tour to various universities in the United States.

Academic performance

The students selected based on their academic performance apart from their active participation in social-cultural activities, campus green initiatives and attendance were sent to Southern Illinois University, St. Louis and Valpraiso University near Chicago where they were exposed to week-long workshops and lectures by international professors. They had a life changing experience after attending the workshop as they could interact with top teachers and understanding about future trends in technology.

The workshop by Dr. Ron Schaefer was the best thing to happen as his talk showed a new dimension to the students and kindled great interest in future of technology, said H.S Saini, Managing Director of Guru Nanak Institutions, who accompanied the students.

G.S Kohli, vice-chairman said the present International programme aims to inculcate the positive learning abilities among the students. The International workshop student applications start in the second year of engineering. In the present programme 18 students were selected of which five visited the varsities abroad.

The remaining will leave in November and January.
