The Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) was awarded the EduTrust certification (4 years) by the Council for Private Education (CPE) in 2010. This certification is a significant milestone for MDIS and attests to the institute's education and business standards.
EduTrust-certified Private Educational Institutions (PEIs) must have robust academic systems and processes, and attained quality standards in the delivery of education. MDIS is amongst the first batch of PEIs to be registered under the Enhanced Registration Framework by CPE in May 2010.
MDIS inked a deal with Education@Iskandar on June 28, 2010 in Kuala Lumpur to purchase a 30-acre campus in Iskandar, Johor, to build its second overseas education campus at EduCity@ Iskandar, Malaysia. MDIS is the first Singapore private tertiary institution to make its foray in EduCity@Iskandar, Malaysia. The new campus, which will be five times bigger than that of the MDIS campus in Singapore, will be funded internally by MDIS. The first batch of 2,000 students will be enrolled in 2013.
MDIS' first overseas campus, MDIS Tashkent at Uzbekistan in Central Asia was built in 2008 at a cost of US$20 million.
As part of its growth and expansion plans, MDIS is also exploring the feasibility of expanding regionally to India, China, Vietnam and Indonesia in the near future.
