The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Valiyamala, Thiruvananthapuram, will hold its national-level admission test, ISAT 2012, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on April 21 for admission to four-year, full-time B.Tech. courses in aerospace engineering, avionics, and physical science.
There are 157 seats. Application can be submitted online on www.iist.ac.in from November 1.
The IIST is a Space university (deemed), which offers free and quality education and jobs. Those who have passed Plus Two or equivalent examinations in the first chance with 70 per cent marks in physics, chemistry, and mathematics taken together and the 10th standard examination with minimum 70 per cent marks are eligible to apply.
There will be no tuition fee, and the Department of Space meets the entire expenses of study.
Free boarding and lodging will be provided.
An official notification of the admission test will be published shortly.
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) will hold the Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE, 2011) on April 8 for admission to undergraduate courses, such as BE, B.Tech., integrated M. Tech., dual-degree M.Tech., and B.Des courses, conducted by them and those offered by the Institute of Technology of Banaras Hindu University, and the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. Paper I will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and Paper II from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Each paper will have separate sections in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
The objective-type questions will test the comprehension, reasoning, and analytical ability of the candidates.
Applications can be submitted online from October 31 to December 10. Sale of offline application forms starts on November 11.
The last date for the receipt of the completed applications is December 15. A detailed notification will be published on October 22.
The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram, has invited applications for admission to a Ph.D. programme starting January. Those with a first-class postgraduate degree in life sciences, biotechnology, agriculture or veterinary sciences are eligible to apply.
