For those who are not content with doing MBA and are looking forward to take up further education, French institution, Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM), in association with Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad, is offering Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA).

Unlike Ph.D. and FPM courses offered by some institutions, DBA is a research-based degree requiring from each student an original contribution to knowledge and to management practices encapsulated into a formal thesis, GEM country manager, Nishit Jain said.

The course was conceived with an intention to bridge the gap between knowledge creators and industry, and to produce applied research in the field of management. Senior executives and professionals working in the country can take advantage of the course to attain the highest form of academic degree, he said.

An MBA is an important tool to get managerial abilities, but they usually do not equip a person to tackle complex questions or resolve difficult problems and a DBA equips a person with these capabilities.

Also, with everyone opting for a MBA degree, DBA will provide a definite advantage in enhancing career opportunities, he explained.

“The course can be taken up by professionals above 40 years of age or those looking forward to change their career from industry to academia, by teachers who do not already have a doctorate certificate or the consultants looking forward to enhance their careers,” he said.
