The Centre for Biotechnology, Anna University, will organise its annual biotech symposium between February 22 and 24, 2008.

The three-day event, titled “Biotechcellence 2008, will consist of paper presentations, guest lectures and competitions. Guest lectures, totalling to seven, will be on topics ranging from IPR and neurosciences to HIV vaccines.


The highlight of the event is the videoconference with Dr.Venkat Gopalan, who will talk on “Antisense technology” from Ohio State University, U.S.

There are cash prizes for best paper presented during the symposium and to the winners of the competitions. Quiz, biz-plan and crossroads are some of the competitions to be organised during the event.


Those who wish to participate and attend the guest lectures need to register online. Registration is free for all the competitions, paper presentations and guest lectures.
