The Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) IIITs, established in 2008, is offering M.Tech Programme for 200 students from this year.
The university will offer M.Tech in Computational Engineering with a specialisation in Civil, Computer Science, Chemical, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical and Metallurgical Materials Engineering courses at its campuses at Basar, Nuzvid or RK Valley.
Candidates qualified in GATE 2011/2012 examination or passing of ‘Introductory Course in Computing’ with ‘A’ grade or 80 marks conducted by RGUKT, are eligible for the course, said Nuzvid IIIT Director Prof. Ibrahim Khan.
Interviews for qualified students will be held on June 27, 28 and 29, at Hyderabad.
Results of the entrance examination will be announced on July 11, and interviews for the candidates who passed in the examination will be held on July 16 and 17. Classes will commence for first semester students from September 17, said the director.
RGUKT will conduct seven-week training on ‘Introductory Course in Computing’ at its headquarters at Gachibowli, Hyderabad or one of its campuses at Basar, Nuzvid or RK Valley, from July 23.
The training course is a compulsory residential programme and the selected students have to stay in the campus. Passing of the course by securing 80 percent marks or ‘A’ Grade is mandatory for admission into two-year M.Tech program.
All the M.Tech students will be offered teaching assistance for four hours a day for conducting theory and practical classes for B.Tech and Pre-University Course (PUC) students in the campus and a honorarium of Rs.10,000 will be paid for the M.Tech candidates.
Students not willing to accept teaching shall have to pay Rs.96,000 per annum towards tuition, food and accommodation and are not entitled to receive any monthly incidental charges, said Mr. Khan.
