Website on engineering education in Kerala

Share  ·   print   ·

Kengcyclopedia.com is a new site that tries to present information relating to engineering courses and colleges in Kerala in a searchable form to students. Finding the right kind of information could help decision-making when students are confronted with complex study options on the threshold of professional education.

One section on the website provides a search option with different ways of filtering the information about the colleges offering particular courses (or all courses) in each of the districts. It can be narrowed down to college categories such as private self-financing, government and government-aided.

Another option makes it possible for students to find out the past last rank details — the last rank in the Kerala entrance examination of students who gained admission to a particular college for a particular branch, again within the scope of narrowing down the search to particular categories of colleges.

Though the last rank variables can change depending on the circumstances from year to year, students can use the data from the past for a rough assessment of their prospects of gaining admission given a certain rank.

Visitors to the site can also enter a particular rank to see where it fits in overall within the last rank scene.

Krishna Swamy A. and Kishan Kumar V.L., who have set up the site, have authored articles on professional education, which are showcased on the site.
