Do you dream to be a shutterbug but do not have enough time to go for a formal long-term graduation in photography?
Then the short-term diploma courses offered by the Ranjan's School of Photography (RSP), in collaboration with the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU), might be an option for you to consider.
RSP has signed an Memorandum of Understanding with JNAFAU – College of Fine Arts (JNAFAU – CFA) on Tuesday to provide a six month Diploma in Photography and a one year Advance Diploma in Photography. While the teaching and practical training will be provided by RSP, JNAFAU – CFA will monitor the quality of the courses, JNAFAU's Director Academic and Planning Prof. S. Pradeep Kumar said.
“As per the MoU, RSP will take two batches for each course, Diploma and Advance Diploma, this year. And to ensure the quality of teaching, strength of each batch is limited to 10 people,” RSP faculty member Bandi Ramana said. While the fee for one year Advance Diploma is fixed at Rs. 60,000 the fee for six month Diploma course will be decided soon, he said.
The syllabus for Diploma course will contain both basic photography and practical training.
The Advance Diploma course will also contain classes for basic photography for first six months. During the second half of the course, students can chooses a specific field, like fashion photography and landscape photography for extensive practical training, Mr. Ramana said. After completion of the Diploma course, if a student wants to pursue Advance Diploma, he can do so by continuing for six more months, he said.
The candidates willing to join the course should have a Digital SLR camera with a provision of changing lens and rest of the equipment will be provided by RSP, he said. “The school has tie up with camera manufacturers like Canon, and if a student wants to buy a DSLR after joining the course the school will make provisions for a discount,” he said.
