Last date for receipt of completed application at the IITs is January 4

Applications have been invited for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-2008) to be held on April 13, 2008 on an all-India basis for admissions to undergraduate and integrated M.Tech. dual degree /five-year integrated M.Tech./ M.Sc. courses conducted by all the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Institute of Technology of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, and the Indian School of Mines at Dhanbad. IITs are functioning at Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur and Roorkee.

One can attempt JEE only twice in consecutive years.

Those who have passed Plus Two / equivalent examination with mathematics, physics, chemistry with 60 percent marks / equivalent grade in the aggregate (55 percent marks for SC/ST/PH candidates) or those who are appearing for the qualifying examination in 2008 are eligible to appear. Engineering diploma holders can also apply. Applicants should be born on or after October 1, 1983. The upper-age limit is relaxed by five years for SC/ST/PH students. JEE-2008 will consist of two papers, each of three hours duration. Both papers will be of the objective type, designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of the students. Aptitude tests for B.Arch. and B.Des. programmes will be conducted for those students who qualify in JEE and are desirous of joining these programmes.
