EASi’s Domain Knowledge Institute offers customised courses
With many automotive giants setting shop in India, the demand for industry-ready engineers has spiralled over the years. The automotive product development process is complex, and unique to each manufacturer. Understanding this process is crucial for any company that deals with the automotive giants or an engineer working for them.
The Domain Knowledge Institute (DKI) is engaged in Knowledge Management i.e. acquisition and dissemination of industry-specific knowledge. The institute meets the industry’s urgent need for engineers who are knowledgeable in its processes and practices.
The institute is an offshoot of EASi, a company providing product engineering solutions to some of the world’s largest companies in the automotive industry segment and in aerospace and other segments. Its customers include General Motors, Ford, DCX, Mazda, Land Rover, Safran, Molex, and Visteon. It has also developed technology to support the U.S. Department of Transportations’ safety initiatives.
EASi offers full-time and part-time courses to in-service mechanical engineers and customised training for the employees of automotive industries. The courses include specific modules (duration – one week), Boot Camps (four to six weeks), Accelerated Boot camps (three to four weeks), certification (six months) as well as advanced certification courses (one year). Both the certification and advanced certification courses are part-time as well as full-time courses. The maximum number of students admitted for these two courses is 10, whereas it is 15 for other courses. In the specific modules the student or the company can choose the topic of their area of interest. The course fee is Rs. 15,000 per student for modules, while it is Rs. 25,000 for Boot Camps and Rs. 50,000 for accelerated Boot Camps. The fee for the certification course is around Rs. 85,000 and that of advanced certification course is between Rs. 1.50 lakh and Rs. 1.75 lakh.
The institute also organises branded seminars and provides three to four updates in a year, covering a wide range of topics.
