The National Assessment and Accreditation Council has accorded `A' grade status to Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts and Science, in recognition of its services for the uplift and empowerment of women from the lower strata.The college which was founded in 1996 by the Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Charities and Education Trust, got the ISO 9001:2000 status in 2003. It now offers 13 undergraduate and 12 postgraduate courses.Training and placement opportunities for students, conduct of bridge courses, orientation programmes for teachers and community development programmes in the peripheral villages are some of the activities of the college.The departments of Bio-technology, Micro-biology and Bio-Chemistry are involved in the community development programmes, imparting skills in vermin-composting, bio-fertilizers, organic farming and mushroom cultivation.
