The days and nights at the National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NIT-C), will be enlivened by music, dance, debate and other cultural programmes once Ragam, the annual cultural extravaganza of the college, kicks off. The four-day event speaks volumes of the organising capacity of the students of the institute.

Ragam 2008, with the slogan “My muse, my canvas,” will begin on Wednesday evening. A cheering squad of 2,600 students of the NIT-C will make the festival all the more memorable.

The inaugural function will be followed by a show by Raghu Dixit Project, a Bangalore-based rock band. Karthik, playback singer, will be on the campus on Friday evening. Another highlight of the festival will be a show by Whitenoiz, again a Bangalore- based rock band.

The budget of this year’s Ragam will be around Rs. 13 lakh. A total prize money of Rs. 2 lakh are awaiting the winners of 55 events.
