The Sustainable Urban Bio-Dynamic Horticulture and Agriculture Movement (SUBHAM) and Kasturba Nagar Residents Association, Adyar, will conduct a workshop on ‘Organic Gardening in Cities’ on February 2 from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. The workshop will be inaugurated by G. Venkatramani, Agriculture Communication Specialist.

Sekhar Raghavan, Director, Rain Centre, Chennai, will handle a session on utilisation of domestic waste water for gardens; Syed Nasar and Abdul Jaleel, Assistant Professors, The New College, Chennai, will conduct a session on vermi-composting at home; N. Dayanandam (Retired). Joint Director of Agriculture will deal with preparation of organic formulations as pesticides and nutrients; G. Ramakrishnan (Retired), Joint Director of Agriculture, will handle a session on organic vegetable cultivation on roof tops in cities; and G. Thyagarajan, Organic Agronomist, will deal with advantages of organic vegetables in our diet. There will be an interactive session.

The workshop will be held at Kasturba Nagar Residents Association Auditorium, New No : 5, Old No : 2, Third Cross Street, Kasturba Nagar, Adyar. (Landmark : Opposite Nilgiris Supermarket).
