To mark the 116{+t}{+h}anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s stay in Chennai in 1897 from February 6-14 in Vivekanandar Illam (Formerly Ice House), Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, is conducting ‘Vivekananda Navaratri’ at the Illam from February 6 - 14.

The following programmes will be held - Vivekananda’s thoughts on education by Swami Kamalatmananda Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, on February 10 at 6 p.m.; Readings from Swami Vivekananda’s teachings at 4. 45 p.m. daily; significance of Vivekananda Navaratri by Swami Apavargananda, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, on February 11 at 6 p.m.; Swami Vivekananda’s place in Tamil Nadu History by Krishnamurthy, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, on February 11 at 6.30 p.m.; lecture on Swami Vivekananda and Religious Tolerance by Swami Tygarajananda Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Nattrampalli, on February 13 at 6 p.m. Apart from this, bhajans, drama, vocal concert and distribution of prasadams will be held.
