With an objective to bring fun in understanding the fundamentals of science, Everest Edusys and Solutions Private Limited, has introduced “Ouest, Explore and Discover,” (QED), an initiative in which uniquely designed exhibits are used.

As a pilot, the programme was launched in three blocks in Kancheepuram district and teachers of eight government schools were trained and oriented on 50 concept-driven exhibits which are relevant to the State Board syllabus.

Following this, 43 government schools teachers from three blocks in Kanchivaram district were trained. The success of this training programme motivated the QED team to propose next steps to the DEE’s office. An SSA Fun with Science van was deployed to carry over 30 exhibits along with a QED trainer to Kanchivaram, Uthramerur and Chitlapakkam.

The science van has enabled the QED team to measure excitement and learning impact on students, receptivity of teachers to this mode of learning and other parameters.

The initiative has made a breakthrough by collaborating with IIT Madras Research Park Company – iGLow – to train to students in Neelangarai Government Middle School.

This model will be replicated in other districts as well.
