Exnora International conducted an orientation training programme recently at T. Nagar on Solid Waste Management for Women Self-Help Groups from C.I.T Nagar area.

The training sessions focused on topics such as conversion of waste into wealth and waste as a source of livelihood.

It stressed that waste management not only serves the purpose of reducing the emission of toxic greenhouse gases but also helps to attain zero waste.

It was also stressed that there are many business opportunities for Solid Waste Management in the city. The sessions were conducted through slide show presentations, participatory card exercises, games and open discussions.

All the 20 participants resolved to put this training to practical use. The training concluded with award of certificates.

V. Usharani, co-ordinator, Women Self Help Group, Rajam Rajaram, senator, T. Vijay Anand, Assistant General Secretary and M. Veliappan, CBS Coordinator, conducted the training. R. Govindaraj, Joint General Secretary, Sulochana Ramaseshan, president, Exnora International, were also present on the occasion.
