Mathruchaya Foundation (MCF) has proposed to conduct a music competition on Thiruppavai and Thiruvempavai pasurams for the school students on January 9 at Shankaralayam, Mayor Ramanathan Salai, Chetpet.

The competition will be held from 9 a.m. and is expected to last till evening. The competition will be judged by eminent persons in the field and prizes will be distributed.

Participants will be classified according to the age group they belong.

The first group students (five to nine years) should be thorough with the first 10 pasurams of Thiruppavai or first seven pasurams of Thiruvempavai, the second group students (10 to 14 years) should be thorough with the first 20 pasurams of Thiruppavai or the first 15 pasurams of Thiruvempavai and the third group students (above 15 years) should be thorough with all the 30 pasurams of Thiruppavai or all the 20 pasurams of Thiruvempavai.

The best three students in each group will be awarded prizes. The criteria for the prizes will be decided by judges. Entry is restricted to two students in each group per school. Application form is available on the net. The filled application form has to be sent to info@mathruchaya.org before December 31.
