The Dharmamurthi Rao Bahadur Calavala Cunnan Chetty's Higher Secondary School in Perambur celebrated its 49th anniversary of Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatha Seva at the school premises on January 2.
R. Rajkumar, Headmaster , said the Suprabhatha Seva was being performed to the Lord of Seven Hills in Tirupati the first Sunday of every month at 8 a.m. Devotees from all walks of life take part in this Seva with utmost devotion. Laddu prasadam is directly brought from Tirumala and distributed to all the devotees during the Seva. Likewise, the contribution received from the public is directly sent to Sri Vari Hundi at Tirumala. The first Seva was started in January 1962 and was being carried out without fail. To mark the 49th Anniversary of the starting of the seva, a special suprabatha seva was held on January 2. Vaishnavite scholar Thenthiruperai Aravindalochanan of Triplicane was the chief guest. He gave a scintillating and thought provoking discourse on Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatham and its author, with the audience completely bowled over by his discourse.
